The Science of Composting
Instead of setting your fall leaves and brush to the side of the road, why not compost rich new garden soil? Learn to create a compost mix that attracts beneficial earth worms and decomposers to your garden, but doesn’t smell or create a mess in your yard. Join in person or through Zoom.

Kids in the Spring Garden
Spring is a great time to get kids involved in the garden. Join us to spark their curiosity with a group reading, garden treats, and scientific experiments that are sure to draw some “ohhhs!” Learn what seeds germinate quickly, what veggies are easiest for little fingers to pick, and garden games that will draw your child into the wonder of growing a kitchen garden.

Preparing the Spring Garden
Tennessee’s final frost date falls in mid-April, but spring gardening can begin months before the ground is ready for seeds. Join us to learn about the first steps of a Spring garden. Set up a seed starter tray and receive a free spring seed packet. Let the sprouting begin!

Composting for Kids
If you just look closely, compost bins have tons of activity! Bring your curious kiddos to learn about a real “bug’s life.” We will use microscopes, magnifying glasses, and a variety of exploratory gear to learn about how bugs, poop, water and heat magically change one material to another.
